Welcome to NGR’s Annual Pitch Writing Competition 2023!

It’s that time of the year again. Welcome to NGR’s Annual Pitch Writing Competition 2023. We take pride in our collaborations and contributions to the freelance writing industry, a bigger part of which is our annual pitch writing competition. This competition increases the thought of helping one another grow professionally and cognitively. Not only does this competition bring a learning benefit, but winners of this competition get rewards, certificates, prize-money and public recognition that they have made a mark on the industry by winning one of the most distinguished competitions around the freelance writers’ communities.

Become a participant in this competition and grow your skills, knowledge, network and make a mark for yourself in the industry that you can look at, and be proud of yourself.

How does it work:

1. The participants submit their pitches to the judges through the competition’s submission portal.
2. Every pitch is closely evaluated by each of the judges and given a score out of 10 individually by each judge.
3. The pitch with the highest collective score wins the competition.
4. We have made two separate categories to make sure the competition is fair among all participants. These categories are based on age groups i.e., below, or equal ages 24, and above ages 24. In the participation form, you are required to enter your date of birth, on the basis of which you will be automatically placed in either of the categories by the system. These age groups help us make sure that people with less experience are not at a certain disadvantage against people with more experience.

How to Enter the Competition:

1. To enter the competition, you are required to be a member of the NGRWC. This includes filling out the membership form AND joining the WhatsApp group.
2. If you have fulfilled the conditions in point # 1, you are required to fill out the submission form at the end of this page to submit your pitch to the judges. Your profile presence will be cross-checked with the list of members of the community to make sure you are eligible for participation.
3. Once you have submitted the form, you will be given a confirmation under the ‘submit’ button. Note that the judges will only be able to identify your pitch with your participant number auto-generated by the system to avoid any biasness with any member of the community.

Important Information:

1. You will be required to write a pitch selling any of your services as a writer. It can be a book you have written, a product you want to sell, an idea you want to argue about, or your services as a writer. For as long as you are able to convince the judges, and grab their attention, your work is a great fit!
2. Your pitch should NOT be more than 400 words. Pitches that are too wordy and lengthy create a bad impact.
3. There will be AI Detectors, Plagiarism Checkers and Comparison tools to avoid misinformation. It is advised to not use any of these tools as it can disqualify you from the competition. (In some cases, human-written articles are detected as partially AI-generated; in which case there is a hidden manual algorithm designed by the company that judges will use to evaluate if the file is human-written or AI-generated.
4. There will be Discord sessions throughout the duration of the competition; where participants can ask questions, solve confusions, and seek help to make their pitch better before the final submission to the judges. It is allowed to collaborate, share ideas and take help from seniors in order to improve your pitch. This competition is all about learning, use all the ways that are available to you to make the best version of your work.

Prize Pools:

Under 24 Group:

1. The 1^st winner will receive a sum of PKR 2500/-, a free 30-minute session with the writing instructor, a PKR 2500/- voucher for paid course at NGR, a public feature of the portfolio and the pitch on Ninitech Global Review’s website along with a winner’s certificate.
2. The runner-up will receive a sum of PKR 1000/-, a free 30-minute session with the writing instructor, a PKR 1000/- voucher for paid courses at NGR along with a runner up’s certificate.
3. All other participants will get feedback on their pitches and how they can be improved individually by the judges and the instructors along with the participation certificate.

24+ Group:

1. The 1^st winner will receive a sum of PKR 3000/-, a free 30-minute session with the writing instructor, a PKR 2500/- voucher for paid course at NGR, a public feature of the portfolio and the pitch on Ninitech Global Review’s website along with a winner’s certificate.
2. The runner-up will receive a sum of PKR 2000/-, a free 30-minute session with the writing instructor, a PKR 1000/- voucher for paid courses at NGR along with a runner up’s certificate.
3. All other participants will get feedback on their pitches and how they can be improved individually by the judges and the instructors along with a participation certificate.

Important Dates:

1. The Deadline for submitting your pitch is 20^th March 2023. NO submissions will be taken as soon as the date changes to 21^st of March 2023.
2. Results will be released in the last week of March.
3. Keep an eye on the WhatsApp group and Discord Channel for any upcoming discussion sessions that might prove beneficial in the learning process for the pitch.
